Search on For Surfer in Distress
The Marblehead Harbormaster and local police officers are reportedly searching the waters off of Castle Rock for a surfer.
Local emergency responders were alerted to a possible surfer in distress in the waters off of Castle Rock Park earlier this evening.
According to a Chief Warrant Officer in the US Coast Guard's Sector Boston office, at approximately 6 p.m., a local resident called police to report that they may have just seen a surfer in distress off of the Marblehead Neck park.
The resident reportedly had to go back to his house to alert police to the situation and now local police officers and the Harbormaster are out searching the area, according to the Coast Guard representative.
As of right now the situation is being considered an "unconfirmed person in the water."
Marblehead Patch will be posting additional information as it becomes available.

No one surfs off Castle Rock at twilight
In fact, no one surfs off Castle Rock.
Before people put our first responders at risk I hope they make sure they know what they're talking about.
