A new member was appointed to the Planning Board during a joint-session with the Board of Selectmen at Abbot Hall Wednesday night.

Appointed was Bob Schaeffner, a former member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The members of the Planning Board and Board of Selectmen pointed to Schaeffner's architecture background, his depth of knowledge about Marblehead and the fact that he has served on Zoning Board of Appeals as the key reasons for voting for him.

Now appointed to the Planning Board, Schaeffner will have to resign his post on the Zoning Board of Appeals.
