Savory Stuffed Turkey Burgers with Mozzarella

These turkey burgers are seasoned with an amazing, all-natural marinade that tenderizes as it adds flavor. The mozzarella that is stuffed inside melts perfectly as the burger is cooked.

I prefer to pan sear these on a griddle over medium flame to seal in the juices while ensuring thorough cooking. Serve these with steamed asparagus and roasted potatoes for a very satisfying meal.

This recipe serves 6 generously.

2 tbsp low sodium Worcestershire Sauce

1 pkg shredded mozzarella cheese

2 ripe tomatoes, sliced

Arugula (two handfulls)

1 small pkg of sliced Baby Portobello Mushrooms

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp chopped garlic

Sea Salt and pepper to taste

Pastene Balsamic Cream

Hearty rolls

How You'll Make it:

In a large bowl, mix the turkey, marinade and Worcestershire Sauce, adding a tbsp at a time, then mixing.

In a small saute pan, heat some olive oil and the garlic and saute the mushrooms until soft. Set aside on stove to keep warm.

To make patties, flatten a palm-sized portion of the turkey and press a dimple into it and lay on a platter. Fill the dimple with the mozzarella. take a golf ball size of turkey, flatten in your palm and place over the stuffed burger on the platter. Pinch the edges up and over the added piece of turkey.

Heat a few drizzles of olive oil on a griddle-type pan over two flames or burners.

Pan sear for about four minutes on each side, then continue to flip evenly to ensure that the burger is cooked all the way through. This also helps the burger stay moist.

When finished, place on the hearty rolls. Top with the sauteed mushrooms, sliced tomato and arugula and finish with a generous drizzle of the Balsamic Cream.

Hint: You may stuff the mushrooms inside, along with the mozzarella. Try toasting the buns too for a different taste. These burgers are big, but with a soft bun, they are easier to eat.

Enjoy!
