Local Teen Arrested on Armed Robbery Charge

A local teen was ordered held on $1,500 cash bail following his arraignment on an armed robbery charge Monday in Lynn District Court.

A local teen accused of violently attacking and robbing another teen at Phillips Park Sunday night was ordered held on $1,500 cash bail Monday in Lynn District court following his arraignment on armed robbery and assault charges.

Bradley Conrad, 18, of 53 Cloutmans Lane, Marblehead, pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon (lacrosse stick) and assault and battery.

His co-defendants were Christopher LeClerc, 18, of 2 Berkshire St., Swampscott and Fiorenzo Lecce, 19, of 317 Paradise Road, Swampscott, both of whom pleaded not guilty to a single charge of armed robbery.

LeClerc and Lecce were ordered released on their own personal recognizance. Conrad's bail was set at $1,500 cash because he has three pending cases.

At 9:25 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at Phillips Park. When officers arrived, a group of five teens said LeClerc, Lecce and Conrad along with a fourth teen, John Michael Murray, 18, of 54 Glendale Road, Marblehead, confronted them when they finished a game of basketball.

Murray, who wasn't arraigned in court Monday, has since been charged with armed robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (wooden board) and assault and battery, according to court documents. Murray was picked up by Marblehead police Monday afternoon.

One of the alleged victims told police that Murray, armed with a 2x4, approached him and stole a $20 bill from his hand and when he asked for it back, Conrad, who was reportedly armed with a lacrosse stick, grabbed him by the throat, according to police.

Murray allegedly went on to smash out one of the windows and a taillight of the victim's car, which was parked nearby. He also reportedly struck the victim in the leg with the wooden board, according to court documents.

Although the other teens didn't attack the victim, they were reportedly complicit in the robbery and had "Murray's back" during the incident, according to police.

Shortly after sending out a description of the suspects, LeClerc, Lecce and Conrad were located by police walking together down Puritan Road and were brought back to Phillips Park so the victim could identify them.

LeClerc, Lecce and Conrad were placed under arrest for armed robbery and a small amount of marijuana was reportedly found in Conrad's sock during the booking process, according to court documents.

A judge recently banned Conrad from being in downtown Marblehead with the exception of while he is attending school, following three arrests in town.

In July, Conrad was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer at an underage drinking party. He was arrested in March for alllegedly threatening to bring a knife to the high school and kill another student and in May for his role in an alleged attempted robbery near Cafe Vesuvius.

Judge Albert Conlon ordered Conrad, LeClerc and Lecce to return to court for a pretrial conference on Sept. 20.

Unfortunately, the so called editor, owen boss, needs to get his facts correct. According to both police reports and court documents, Conrad did not have marijuana on him, nor was he the one who robbed the swampscott teenager. The marblehead teen who is accused of the robbery was later arrested. As for Conrad being banned from Marblehead, that is no longer the case. This gentlemen needs to realize what he is printing is defamation of character.

If you're out on bail and continue to commit crimes, you should not be released. This dirtbag now has four pending court cases, one of them for a violent crime? Keep him locked up until his court date.

Hi Jade: According to the police report, filed by Swampscott Patrolman Todd Pierce, Conrad was issued a citation for possessing less than an ounce of marijuana when he told officers he had marijuana in his sock during the booking process. He, and the three other teens allegedly involved in this incident, have since been charged with armed robbery. On July 11, a judge ordered that he stay away from the center of Marblehead - that may not still be the case. As for the other teen, the story of his arraignment can be seen here : http://patch.com/A-xtMF . The facts in this report are accurate, and I stand by my reporting.
