Sgt. Paul Atkinson, of Marblehead, returned home from Afghanistan just two days before Christmas, according to a story that appeared in today's edition of The Salem News.
When he's home, Atkinson, 41, told the paper he works as a corrections officer at Middleton Jail and reportedly spent much of last year deployed just north of Kabul in the Massachusetts National Guard's 1-182 Infantry Regiment out of Melrose.
