Local Firefighters Ready to 'Fill the Boot'
Marblehead firefighters are gearing up for this year's "Fill the Boot" campaign.
The following press release was issued by Doug Knowles:
Members of the Marblehead Fire Department will launch this year’s “Fill the Boot” campaign for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Professional firefighters are once again rallying to help hundreds of children and adults affected by progressive muscle diseases. Marblehead firefighters are out to help speed worldwide research seeking treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy and related diseases, while simultaneously funding outstanding local MDA clinics, support groups, and MDA summer camp.
“The Marblehead firefighters are remarkable civil servants and incredible humanitarians,” said MDA Boston North Executive Director Vanessa Malfitano. “We’re so grateful for their energy and enthusiasm in raising vital funds needed for MDA research and local health care services programs.”
Committed to helping MDA defeat muscular diseases since 1954, the IAFF consistently raises more than any other organization or business for the families served by MDA.
Members of Local 2043 ask you to join them in the “Fill the Boot” campaign, a great give back opportunity for our community.
