Local Arrested for OUI after Hitting Tree, Leaving Scene
A local resident will be arraigned on OUI charges in Lynn District Court this afternoon.
A local resident accused of hitting a tree on Driftwood Road while driving under the influence and then leaving the scene of the accident was arrested Wednesday night.
Carmen McKiernan, 55, of 25 Pinecliff Drive, Marblehead, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
At approximately 9:37 p.m., police responded to a report of a "loud screech and then a crash" on Driftwood Road but the caller said the "car wasn't in the area anymore," according to this morning's log.
McKiernan's 2010 BMW X5 was reportedly located shortly after and the vehicle was towed to the police station.
McKiernan will be arraigned in Lynn District Court this morning. Marblehead Patch will be posting additional information as it becomes available.

how many drunk driving accdients have to happen before bars like the barnicle and maddies start taking their responsibility seriously and stop over serving.

Why is this the Bar's fault? Why do we keep making others responsible for another's actions.
Put this guy in jail for endangering the public and be done with it. But no we hear calls for others to take responsibility.
You response should be: When are we going to lock up these drunks and stop letting them back behind the wheel?
