Larry, a local Boston Terrier, went missing early this morning.

The following information was submitted by Amy Budrow:

Our dog, Larry, has run away and we are begging for help to find him. He is a 6-year-old Boston Terrier.

He has a black collar with tags. Unfortunately the number on the tag is no longer in service. He disappeared this morning at approximately 1 a.m. from the Heritage/Village Street area.

He was last seen near Devereux Beach.

His home is on Colgate Road so we are hoping he is either at someone's home or in the area. If anyone finds him or sees him they can call me at 617-590-2133.

He is very shy and timid so we are really hoping for the best.

Does he have his rabies tag on him...if he does you should notify the vet's office that gave him the vaccination. Dogs can be traced through their vaccination tags. That way the vet's office can help you locate him. Good luck.

What State are you in? Has he been chipped from your vet? If so, any pound, or Animal Hospital will be able to track you down. I worked for a Vet for 18 years, and strongly urge you to chip him. Hope all works out for you. Patricia

Oh no! I will be on the lookout, we lost Oscar one afternoon. I was calling the dog officer the same time the family that found him was, they said "a pug? ya, wait a sec, I think we got him"

He does have a tag and we called the vet. Unfortunately he is not chipped. I regret not doing that!

Have you plastered the area with flyers? If not, you need to do that asap. If he's hiding somewhere someone will see him evnetually.Put flyers in mailboxes as well. Hopefully someone took him in but doesn't know he's lost. Keep us posted!

We had flyers up but because of the weather we will be taking the mess down today and probably be reposting tomorrow. Does anyone know of a place where I can hang a larger poster that folks would see?

If it's possible, use plastic page protectors with the opening at the bottom. They can usually withstand bad weather. You can get a box of them at Staples or the scrapbook stores (Michael's/A.C. Moore) but are a little more expensive. And then of course inside of stores, coffee shops, gas stations, etc. would help :)

I bet Java Sun and maybe Shubies would let you put one up, the dog places in town like Creature Comforts etc, definitely the community center, retirees are home a lot and might see him. Good luck, hoping for his safe return!

I think Crosby's, the Community Store, the pet store next to Atomic Cafe, as well as the Atomic cafe, perhaps the bookstore, starbucks and Three Cod. Have you asked any of the businesses in the Village Plaza. Also, I bet Paulette Brophy would put a poster up in her store The Flower HOuse. Good Luck, I pray he returns safely.

Since dog licenses are due, maybe you could put a flyer in the Town Clerks office and find out there if you could put flyers up at the Municipal Building on Widger Road, the Post Office, and at the transfer station. Don't forget to go to the town garages for the various departments and put flyers up because the town workers are always driving around town. Also the YMCA and JCC might be a good places too.

I was thinking along the same lines, ask mail carriers to keep an eye out as well as town employees. I pray someone has him in their home and he is safe and warm until reunited with his family.

He could be trying to make his way home. Are you still calling for him in the area/beach that he was lost? He could be hiding out somewhere near there afraid to go anywhere.
