Grown Ups 2 Returns to MVMS Today

Columbia Pictures will film more scenes for Grown Ups 2 at Marblehead Veterans Middle School today.

For the second time in as many weeks, will be transformed into the home of the "Stanton Puritans" this morning while scenes for the star-packed Adam Sandler movie are filmed.

On the heels of a , Columbia Pictures Location Manager Mark Fitzgerald told the Board of Selectmen that school officials have opted to go with the same drop-off and pick-up traffic pattern as last time.

Today's shoot will take place while school is in session but will not require the some 200 extras that were on hand for a scene depicting last month.

"It will be the same exact drill as last time only it will be a lot easier because we won't have all of those extras with us," Fitzgerald said last week.

Drop Off/Pick Up: The Vine Street entrance to the school will be closed to all but emergency vehicles. All students being picked up or dropped off MUST be brought to school from the Pleasant Street entrance. The principal has also encouraged parents to consider having their children walk to school to alleviate congestion.

During today's shoot, Location Manager Mark Fitzgerald said the majority of the film equipment will be parked in the parking lot.

Other vehicles will be parked along the northwest side of Pleasant Street.

Street Closure Schedule:

  • Until 9 p.m. tonight, no parking tow zone signs will be posted on the northwest side of Pleasant Street from Prospect Street to Prince Street.
