American Kara Goucher, of NY, finished the race in 11th place.
Overall, Tiki Gelana of Ethiopia won the race with an Olympic-record time of 2 hours, 23 minutes and .07 seconds.
Gelana edged silver-medalist Priscah Jeptoo of Kenya and bronze-medalist Tatyana Petrova Arkhipova of Russia.
