Filming Moves to Marblehead Neck

Be prepared for some traffic detours on Marblehead Neck while cameras are rolling.

Don't be surprised if you see an increase in traffic along the causeway to Marblehead Neck this week as Columbia Pictures film crews shoot scenes for the Adam Sandler movie Grown Ups 2.

Columbia Pictures Location Manager Mark Fitzgerald was out on Ocean Avenue Monday afternoon, looking as a landscaping crew spruced up the front lawn of the mansion at the entrance to Marblehead Neck.

The front porch of the house had been taped off with black fabric and it appeared that getting the exterior of the house ready would be the focus Monday afternoon.

Fitzgerald appeared before the Board of Selectmen at Abbot Hall Wednesday night to present the updated filming schedule below.

According to the plan presented Wednesday, filming will continue in Marblehead today at Gatchell's Park and at a home on Marblehead Neck.

Here's what you need to be ready for this week:

Upcoming Traffic Detours:

Gatchell Park: Film crews will return to Gatchell Park Monday to film day scenes to accompany the night scenes they shot last week. From Sunday at 12 p.m. through Monday at 10 p.m., intermittent traffic control will occur on Lafayette Street and West Shore Drive, and parking will be restricted on Rainbow, Tully and Robert roads.

Ocean Avenue: Filming at the home on Marblehead Neck that will host more than a week's worth of shooting will begin today. From Monday at 5 p.m. through Saturday June 23rd, intermittent traffic control will take place outside of 204 Ocean Ave., and traffic will be rerouted down Flint Street. Parking restrictions will occur on Ocean Avenue, Flint Street and Harbor Avenue.

Pleasant Street: From Thursday, June 21 at 7 p.m. through Friday June 22 at 9 p.m., intermittent traffic control will take place on Pleasant Street. That pattern will reportedly continue through June 22.

Pleasant Street (Second Unit): Parking restrictions will occur along portions of Pleasant and Watson streets from Thursday, June 21 at 7 p.m. to Friday, June 22 at 9 p.m.; Sunday, June 24 at 4 p.m. to Tuesday June 26 at 9 p.m.; and Thursday, June 25 through June 30, at times to be determined. Also, intermittent traffic control will occur in one of three alternative options: 5 Corners, Memorial Park, or the intersection of Pleasant and Village streets.

Washington Square: Columbia Pictures film crews will be constructing a playground at the Lower Green of Abbot Hall this week. Intermittent street closings will occur around the lower half of Washington Square and parking restrictions will be enacted along portions of Washington Street from Monday, June 18 to Sunday, June 24 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., for site preparation; Sunday June 24 at 5 p.m. through Tuesday June 26 at 9 p.m. for filming; and Wednesday, June 27 through Friday June 29 at 5 p.m. for site restoration.

Phillips & Lee Auto Service: Film crews will film scenes at Phillips & Lee Auto Service on Atlantic Avenue on June 24. Intermittent street closings will occur along portions of Atlantic Avenue and Hawkes Street and parking restrictions along portions of Atlantic Avenue, Hawkes Street and Barnard Street from Tuesday, June 26, at 5 p.m., through Wednesday, June 27 at 9 p.m.

Love the information you provide thru the Patch, however, it's frustrating because I can never print the information out-all I get is a printout of the ads that accompany the articles. Any advice?

Hi Cody: Taylor Lautner is playing a fraternity brother in a scene we expect will be shot in Swampscott. I don't think it will be shot there this week, though.
