Fall Victim Upgraded to Fair Condition
The local librarian who fell from a Swampscott porch Thursday afternoon has been upgraded to fair condition.
The local librarian who sustained a severe head injury when he fell from a Swampscott porch last week has been upgraded to fair condition at Mass General Hospital in Boston, a spokeswoman said Monday night.
Christopher Tremblay, 27, of 45 Blaney St., Swampscott, had been listed in critical condition since the accident occurred Thursday afternoon, according to MGH's Affairs Officer Colleen Marshall.
Tremblay and a friend were reportedly trying to move a small brown leather couch off of an apartment building's dilapidated second-floor porch when the railing gave way.
The pair were reportedly moving the couch because Tremblay's landlord said the porch was too unsafe to hold it.
It is unclear whether or not the town will investigate the landlord for code violations, according to this story published in the Lynn Item.
The fall was approximately 15 feet, according to police.
According to the 2011 Marblehead Town Report, Tremblay was a Senior Library Assistant at Abbot Public Library.
