At their meeting at Abbot Hall Wednesday night, the Board of Selectmen read a letter from local resident Dara Van ReMoortel regarding the apparent need for an additional crosswalk on Tedesco Street.
In her letter, Van ReMoortel said she was requesting that an additional crosswalk be added to the Leggs Hill Road area because "there are only two crosswalks on this entire street and other main streets have far more."
Board members unanimously approved a motion raised by Judy Jacobi to have the letter forwarded to the Trafic and Safety Committee so that they could make a recommendation.
So, we have to ask - do you think a third crosswalk is needed on Tedesco Street? Do you think there are enough already?
Let us know in the comments section below.

Absolutely. This is a VERY busy section of the road with traffic from the YMCA, Vinnin Square, Tedesco Country Club and residences. Crossing safely is difficult for adults and outright dangerous for children. Dan Hawthorne

Definately!! It's a traffic nightmare, try living in the middle of it!! There should be a crosswalk going across Tedesco and one at entrance/exit (across) Leggs Hill. With so many cars going in & out of there all the time it should be safer for pedestrians, joggers and children.

As a resident of Mystic Road, I agree. We are often crossing Tedesco to walk, bike to school. There is no crosswalk in our area of Tedesco and cars are often accelerating in the straight-away from Vinnin Sq to Leggs Hill. A visual remider with a crosswalk would help to slow the traffic approaching Leggs Hill area and make a safer passage for pedestrians as well. Laura Simpson

Yes. The traffic gets going way too fast in that area and a reminder that this is still a "neighborhood" with pedestrians would be very helpful. We all need a safe spot to cross the street in this area.

It is dangerous enough for an adult never mind a child to cross Tedesco, that is anyone even bothers to stop...

Absolutely! I love being able to walk to the Y with my boys, 2 and 5, but crossing Tedesco is always unnerving, and sometimes downright scary.
