Cyclist Injured in Alleged Hit-And-Run

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead police log:

  • At 9:14 a.m. Friday, a woman on Essex Street called police to report a female pedestrian walking in the middle of the street who "seemed like she is under the influence." The woman, who was wearing a Red Devils sweatshirt, was described by police as "looking pretty rough," and said she was just headed to her mother's house.
  • At 9:26 a.m. Friday, a coach from Marblehead High School called police report losing his hard black case wallet containing credit cards at on Pleasant Street.
  • At 3:05 p.m. Friday, a Mohawk Road resident called police to report two suspicious people sitting in a car. The caller told police they saw a woman standing on Pleasant Street as if she was waiting for a ride get into a car that pulled over just a few yards up the road.
  • At 3:35 p.m. Friday, a Wyman Road resident called to report that she had come home to find that someone had smashed her terra cotta planter. The woman's husband reportedly told police there was a group of ten people in the area of Gilbert Heights and he suspected that they were the ones who smashed the planter.
  • At 1:17 a.m. Saturday, a cyclist called police to report that he had been struck by a motor vehicle while traveling along Pleasant and School streets. The man told police he was struck by a small Toyota or Nissan and had walked to his mother's house with what he believed was a broken arm. The man was later transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
  • At 9:18 a.m. Saturday, a Bubier Road woman called police to report that someone had thrown an egg at her window overnight.
  • At 10:48 a.m. Saturday, a wallet and keys were found at the Dunkin' Donuts on Pleasant Street and brought into the station.
  • At 3:14 p.m. Saturday, a motorist on Pleasant Street called police to report a group of kids throwing pop crackers at passing cars. The man said his car was hit and it startled him. When he approached the kids, the man told police they said they had bought them at 7-11.
  • At 3:32 p.m. Saturday, a Washington Street woman called police to report that her pocketbook had been stolen out of her car while she shopped at a local business. After police searched the area for her pocketbook, the woman called and said she found it hanging in her closet.
  • At 5:39 p.m. Saturday, a woman called police to report that she had lost a diamond ring in the area of Stramski Park. The woman said she lost a white diamond banded Eternity ring and wanted to know if the department had a metal detector.
  • At 11:58 a.m. Sunday, a Washington Street business owner called police to report that three times last week she found the store's front door open when she arrived in the morning. The woman told police she knew for a fact that she had locked it the night before. A report was filed.
