Schools will open two hours late Thursday morning and business should be back to normal by the afternoon.

Crews worked overtime Tuesday night and throughout the day Wednesday to clear over a foot of snow that fell on the town.

On Wednesday the Electric Department fixed and restored power to many parts of town affected by downed power lines. Early in the day, a tree came down on Lime Street, cutting power to the area. A telephone pole also snapped in half on Tedesco Street. Officials believed wet, heavy snow was to blame.

No major injuries or accidents were reported. Highway crews will continue to clear and treat roads Thursday morning to prepare for the morning and afternoon commute.
