Brush Strokes Opening Saturday
Marblehead's new open studio and art gallery on Prospect Street will hold an open house Saturday.
Brush Strokes Open Studios and Art Gallery will host an open house this weekend as part of the Marblehead Festival of Arts.
Area residents in town for the festival are invited to meet and chat with the studio's seven resident artists and visit Brush Strokes' gallery, which features a variety of locally-created paintings, calligraphy and photographs.
Brush Strokes is located at 14 Prospect St., in the space formerly occupied by Amy's Playschool.
The resident artists, each of whom has their own unique studio space, are Marty Riskin, Michiko Imai, Peggy Farrell, Patricia Marshall, Betty Ann Downs, Geraldine Corbino, Jon Corbino and Jan Condon.
The studios will be open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and will remain open during those hours through July 4.
The Brush Strokes Grand Opening Reception will be held July 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. and the gallery hours will be Saturdays and Sundays from 12 to 4 p.m.
Exhibitions will change on a monthly basis and will eventually feature paintings, photography, sculptures and ceramics. Local residents will also be able to sign up for classes in painting, drawing, photography and mixed media.
