No, you're not seeing things - Columbia Pictures film crews began erecting a mock playground in front of Abbot Hall Tuesday afternoon.
The temporary play area, being built in the historic building's lower green area off of Washington Square, is expected to be used to film a scene for the Adam Sandler movie Grown Ups 2 on Monday.
A swing-set, slide and jungle gym were partially built as of Wednesday morning.
Marblehead Patch will be adding photographs to this post as the "playground" takes shape.
Parking Restrictions: Intermittent street closings will occur around the lower half of Washington Square and parking restrictions will be enacted along portions of Washington Street through Sunday, June 24 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., for site preparation; Sunday June 24 at 5 p.m. through Tuesday June 26 at 9 p.m. for filming; and Wednesday, June 27 through Friday June 29 at 5 p.m. for site restoration.
Do you have a question about Grown Ups 2? Send them to Marblehead Patch and we will try to find an answer for you.

Nice, but lacking in the required scuffed-up spots under each swing, to show use! how will they deal with THAT?
