Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Marblehead.

 

Today is Thursday, June 28, and here are the five things you need to know:

1. It should be a beautiful day in Marblehead. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be mostly sunny, with a high near 78. Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 65. (sunrise, 5:08 a.m.; high tide, 6:23 a.m.; low tide, 12:31 p.m.; sunset, 8:24 p.m.)

2. Aside from a few second unit scenes next month, Grown Ups 2 filming has wrapped in Marblehead and will move on to Swampscott next week. 3. Town Planner Rebecca Curran provided the Board of Selectmen with an update regarding the recent renovation of damaged gravestones at Old Burial Hill Cemetery. Click Here for our full story.

4. The Finance Committee will meet this morning at the Mary Alley Municipal Building. The meeting, scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m., is expected to feature a discussion about increasing the school tuition revolving fund, according to the posted agenda.

5. Today in History: On June 28, 1776, Thomas Hickey, Continental Army private and bodyguard to General George Washington was hanged for mutiny and sedition.
