5 Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 15

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Marblehead.

 

Today is Wednesday, Aug. 15, and here are the five things you need to know:

1. You should be prepared for wet weather today. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10 a.m. Otherwise it will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Tonight should be mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. (sunrise, 5:50 a.m.; high tide, 10:19 a.m.; low tide, 4:11 p.m.; sunset, 7:44 p.m.)

    2. The space for a secret stairway inside Glover Square's Norden House is something of a local mystery - and even the home's new owners are looking for answers as to exactly what it was used for. Click Here for our full story.

    3. The Marblehead Forever Committee will meet this afternoon in the Selectmen's office at Abbot Hall. The meeting, scheduled to begin at 4:45 p.m., is expected to feature a discussion about plans to celebrate the return of gold medal winner Kayla Harrison.
