Conservation Commission Approves Emergency Order: Following a public hearing Thursday night that drew an overflow crowd to the lower-level conference room of the Mary Alley Municipal Building on Widger Road, Conservation Commission members approved an emergency order to pull docks and floats from Marblehead Harbor.

Trial Begins for Local Man Charged With Killing Pregnant Girlfriend: The trial of a local man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend in 2009 began Tuesday morning in Salem Superior Court. Peter Ronchi is accused of stabbing Yuliya Galperina, 42, in May 2009 when she told him the baby was not his. He reportedly fled to Connecticut before turning himself over to police, according to The Globe.
Selectmen Review BYOB Regulations: In response to a recent request from Casa Corona Restaurant for permission to allow their patrons the option of bringing along their own alcohol beverages, the Board of Selectmen reviewed the local rules pertaining to BYOB at their meeting Wednesday night. While no official decision was made in regard to Casa Corona, board members looked over and altered a draft of BYOB regulations that was recently crafted by Town Counsel Lisa Mead.
6 Months, 6 Restaurant Openings in Marblehead: Over the last six months, Marblehead residents have seen a major shake-up to the local food scene as six different restaurants have either opened or reopened in town.
